All I was trying to do was point out that that notion is not necessarily true. Not sure where the “I-shouldn’t-use-the-AirPrint Driver” notion came from, but it works for me as I mentioned in my original post response. The PP&L configuration I posted previously, has worked for me and resulted in images that match my calibrated monitor. I have had no problems using the AirPrint version of the driver. This, in turn, loaded the AirPrint version. When setting-up my Pro-300, I followed the instructions for connecting to a computer which had me go to and download the appropriate files. You can, however, select the ICC profile you want to use. According to the PP&L User Manual, the Auto setting automatically selects the correct printer profile.I have a PRO-100 installed on the same computer and it works perfectly. This makes me think the driver is installed correctly because it shows the Canon PRO-300 Series driver 3.0.īut when I go to print, I don't see all of the options that I think I'm supposed to see for the Canon PRO-300:įor example, there is no "Color Options" choice where I would configure settings for B&W printing, as documented in Keith's review of the PRO-300 on Northlight.

When I click on "Options and Supplies", this is what I see:

My Canon PRO-100 printer shows "Canon PRO-100 Series", and doesn't include "AirPrint". Does that mean I installed the AirPrint version? I know I'm not supposed to do that. I went through the installation process, selected the Canon PRO-300 Bonjour in the driver interface, and then "Canon PRO-300 Series" from the drop-down menu.īut when I look at the printer in "Printers & Scanners", the name of the driver installed is "Canon PRO-300 Series-Airprint".
